What is massage?

Massage is the manual manipulation of the body promoting health and relaxation. The therapy involves contact using hands, forearms and elbows to apply pressure to the body. I use a combination of Swedish, Thai yoga, Shiatsu and Cranio-sacral massage techniques. I work directly onto the skin using towels for modesty and oils to apply the strokes. However massage through clothes is possible if required but is not as effective as working skin to skin.

Why use an oil?

I use sweet almond oil for the massages as it is highly beneficial for hydrating the skin. Oil also acts as a lubrication medium to allow long slow relaxing strokes along the body without friction being created.

* sweet almond oil is unsuitable for people with nut allergies and may be unsuitable for those with nut intolerances

If you do not want to use an oil it is possible to use an aqueous cream as a massage lubricant, please inform me before treatment commences.
